2017 WHITESTONE FARM HUNTER SHOW SERIES - SHOW RULES & REGULATIONS

 

SHOW RULES & REGULATIONS

  1. Every class offered herein is governed by the rules and specifications set by the current VHSA and BHSA rules.
  2. Proof of a negative Coggins test, taken within 1 year, is required of all horses and ponies on the show grounds.  Bring a photocopy of your Coggins test results to leave with the secretary (unless already on file).
  3. Pre-entries: Go online to:  www.whitestonefarmva.com to print a form.  The entry form must be mailed or submitted by email and received by Friday at noon. Pre-entries may add/scratch during the show without penalty.   Call Kathleen at 540-840-5484 with questions. 
  4. All release/entry forms must be completed and signed by a participant or parent/guardian.  Numbers will not be released until the entry form is signed.
  5. All classes are $14.00 for pre-entries and $16.00 on day of show.  Pre-entries must be received by 12:00 p.m. on the Friday before the show
  6. Limited stall availability. Stall reservations are taken by phone only on a first come first serve basis. Call the office at 540-786-9124. Overnight $40.00, Day $30.00.  Bedding is provided.
  7. Fee for returned checks $50.00. Any requirement to bill for charges will be assessed a $25.00 charge.
  8. There is a $25.00 non-showing fee for those who only wish to school.
  9. Schooling in Ring #1 at designated times.  Please see class schedule for details.
  10. NO DOGS ALLOWED
  11. All Judges decisions are final.
  12. ASTM/SEI certified helmets must be worn by all riders when mounted.
  13. Age of junior rider is defined as riders age as of December 1, 2016.
  14. Proper attire is required. Jackets may be excused at Judge’s discretion.
  15. All Hunter divisions horse/pony must be shown in at least one over fences class in order for under saddle points to count towards year end awards.
  16. Six ribbons will be awarded in each class.  Champion and Reserve will be awarded in each division.  Points will awarded as follows: 1st -10, 2nd – 6, 3rd- 4, 4th- 2, 5th- 1, 6th- .5.  Champion- 10, Res. Champion -6. Base points plus bonus points per the VHSA and BHSA point systems.
  17. High Point Trainer Award and High Point Owner Award are based on accrued points through the show series. Points to count are Champion (10) points and Res. Champion (6) points. ENTRANTS MUST LIST A TRAINER and OWNER ON THE ENTRY FORM AT EACH SHOW TO ACCRUE POINTS.
  18. In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be posted on the answering machine by 6:00am on the day of the show.   Call the horse show office at 540-786-9124.
  19. Exhibitors show at their own risk. Exhibitors are notified that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the judges or officials on the part of the owner, manager, rider or groom, shall disqualify the horse and the owner shall forfeit his entry and other fees.
  20. Jumps in any or all classes are subject to change at the discretion of the Committee in the case of a jump off, accident to equipment or for any other reason deemed necessary.
  21. The show committee reserves the right to refuse any entry, to change/combine/postpone/cancel or split classes/divisions or change officials.
  22. Please use trash containers for disposal purposes. Leave only your hoof prints behind!
  23. All guests and exhibitors will be held responsible for any damages they or their animals cause to show grounds and property.
  24. Management/farm owner are not liable for injury to person or horse at anytime, which includes going to, coming from, and in the ring. Neither will it be responsible for vehicles or any article that may be lost or damaged.
  25. Should any question or dispute arise that is not provided for in the foregoing rules, the same shall be submitted to the show management, whose decision shall be final.

COGGINS:  The State of Virginia requires the show to possess a copy of current negative Coggins certificate from every horse on the show ground.  You must submit a legible copy of the Coggins certificate for each entry before numbers can be used.

Ring #1:  150’ X 310’ with all weather footing

Ring #2:  90’ X 110’ with all weather footing



THE MAY 20TH SHOW WILL FEATURE THE BHSA SPONSORED FORREST T. LINTON MEMORIAL PONY CLASSIC.  THE CLASSIC WILL FOLLOW PONY EQUITATION

THE  JUNE 17TH SHOW WILL OFFER THE BHSA SPONSORED FORREST T. LINTON MEMORIAL CLASSIC .  THE CLASSIC WILL FOLLOW THE LAST CLASS OF THE DAY.

THE SEPTEMBER 23 SHOW WILL HOST THE ANNUAL JOSEPHINE MYSLIWSKI MEMORIAL HUNTER DERBY.  THIS $550 HUNTER DERBY IS HELD EVERY SEPTEMBER IN HONOR OF JOJO’S BIRTHDAY AND IS SPONSORED BY HER PARENTS GARY AND PATRICIA AND HER SISTERS, MAXINE MYSLIWSKI AND CORREEN SCHAAFSMA.  OPEN TO JUNIORS AND AMATEURS AT 2’, 2’6”, 3’.  THE DERBY WILL BE HELD AFTER THE FIRST SCHOOLING BREAK AND BEFORE THE VHSA EQUITATION ON THE FLAT CLASSES.
